Member of the Syrian People's Assembly, Ahmad Merhi, said in an exclusive interview with Unews Press Agency that Trump has become prominently linked to the Israeli entity.
Merhi pointed out that his step in the recognition of Israeli sovereignty was preceded by a fundamental step to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli entity
"The territories of the Golan in accordance with resolution 497 of 1981 is occupied territory and therefore the actions of the occupation authority on this land are null and void and can not be disposed of," Merhi said in a statement to Unews Press Agency. 
He further added that the step comes as part of Trump's support to Netanyahu in the upcoming elections as the latter suffers from internal crisis and corruption issues.
